Review- Kellogg's NEW Multi-Grain Mini Biscuits: Rice Krispies and Coco Pops

I'm embracing my inner 7 year old today with some kid's snacks! I had seen these NEW Kellogg's Multi-Grain Mini Biscuits on Twitter and after reading Miss Erin's AKA http://guilt-free-veggie.blogspot.co.uk shining review, I decided to pick up a couple of bags.

As usual, I couldn't decide whether to get the Rice Krispies variety or the Coco Pops so just bought both for £1.99 each in Asda.

Rice Krispies

Each big bag contains 5, 24g packets of biscuits which are baked with the cereal to produce a crunchy bite size treat.

I wasn't sure what to expect from these but I was pleasantly surprised - They were crunchy as promised and very moreish! They had a lovely sweet and oaty flavour although I am not sure I would have been able to identify it as being Rice Krispies.. Having said that, I shoved one in MSW's mouth, as she was walking by and she exclaimed "WOW! It tastes of Rice Krispies" so, its pretty much anyones guess. I feel as though Kellogg's have just whacked the name on there as a selling point and used any old cereal.. Even if it was delicious! It's a 3.5 out of 5.

Coco Pops

The biscuits come with a parental reassurance that they contain fibre and therefore are fine to give to your Kiddies! We just won't mention the 7.7g of sugar, shall we?

After the enjoyment of the previous packet, I was bitterly disappointed by this variety! Although crunchy with plenty of oats, they tasted horrible - They had a cheap and artificial chocolate flavour that you would expect from a supermarket brand, Coco Pop wannabe! I also felt they had an even more unpleasant, plastic sort of aftertaste which then left a greasy film in the mouth. All in all, pretty grim! It's a 0.5 out of 5 from me.

I am fairly indifferent about these NEW Kellogg's Multi-Grain Mini Biscuits. The Rice Krispies variety are quite tasty and I would probably buy them again if I had a sweet tooth craving but didn't want anything to "unhealthy". The Coco Pops version, on the other hand are plain vile but no doubt some Kid out there will think they are the best thing in their lunch box since Petits Filous. As for me.. I think I'd rather have a bowl of (actual) Coco Pops!

  1. They look exactly like the special k biscuit snackers that they used to make.
