Review- McDonald's UK NEW Bacon Clubhouse Double

Oh hi Bacon Clubhouse! It's nice to see you again.. Oh, you've found your long lost beef patty twin? That's beautiful, I am so pleased for you! ..Christ, I'm talking to a burger. A picture of a burger, at that. This is what happens when you don't have a McDonald's for a good while.. It's a slippery slope, my friends!

Perhaps the extent of my "in the beyond-ness" can be attributed to the fact I had to drive all around my bloomin' county to acquire the bloomin' thing! - Unbeknownst to me, my local Fast Food store is under renovation. Until the 21st March. I am yet to figure out how I will cope. So, a major detour was taken and finally, at long last we were reunited.

Two 100% British and Irish beef patties, Big Mac sauce, two rashers of Beechwood Smoked Bacon, a slice of Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Onions, a slice of Tomato and Lettuce, all in a brioche style bun.

Despite the miles it travelled, the burger looked most inviting indeed.. Smaller than I remembered but pretty much picture perfect with some sneaky lettuce and onion on show - Not the usual slipey-slidey, sloppy-moppy mess, that I am all too often presented with!

Cutting the Burger in half, things seemed fairly soft and squidgy with a good amount of "added extras" on show. Starting with the bun, it appeared plenty fresh, tasted pleasantly bread-y and was surprisingly robust enough to withstand all that it held despite, the light, airy texture. The Big Mac sauce packed that signature gherkin-esque flavour which paired up nicely with the grilled to perfection onions, a long with a burst of freshness from the salad. As expected, the melted cheese and slightly smoked bacon were a match made in heaven, providing both mellow and smokey tones.. Unfortunately however, this was where the positives came to a grinding halt. Cooked seemingly well and being plenty juicy themselves, the beef patties did deliver on being meaty.. But without a shadow of a doubt, were far too "bitty" and difficult to get down, regardless of the quantity of sauce above, making the burger overall about as dry as a dog! Disappointing.

Ah McDonald's.. I fear it is a case of "so close and yet so far"! - This NEW Bacon Clubhouse Double isn't anywhere near as good as it could be (Or it's predecessor!).. But so easily rectified! An extra slice of cheese and a squirt of the Big Mac sauce between the two patties, to break up the texture and I reckon, the entire dry aspect would be avoided. To be honest, I can't fathom why McDonald's didn't consider this to begin with.. Surely during taste testing, they realised that the lower half of the bun and bottom beef was essentially redundant without having something to hold it together? I mean, I ended up chucking that part away as it had no place or purpose! Such a pity - It's a Fast Food forlorn, 2 out of 5 from me.

Review- M&S NOT SO NEW Spirit of Summer: Key Lime Pie

We started with it so we will finish with it.. It's back to Key Lime for our last Spirit of Summer review and this time in its classic pie form!

This 525g dessert was purchased as part of a 2 for £6 deal with the ever so delightful Very Berry Cheesecake being its buddy. Suitable for Veggies as well as freezing, the rectangular treat is designed to feed 6 which sounds about right after having checked out the nutritional values.. 14.4g of saturated fat in a 88g portion, anyone?

Crunchy digestive biscuit base topped with lashings of zesty lime mousse (74%) finished with zingy lemon shreds.

As seen with the Toffee & Honeycomb Traybake, it was advised to run a knife around the inside of the card tray before pulling the end flaps and peeling back the sides, as means of getting into the dessert - Once again, it worked a treat with minimal mousse loss.

I figured mini rectangles were the best option when it came to serving slices so cut accordingly and was surprised to discover just how crumbly the biscuit base was - Far more so than a Cheesecakes in not being anywhere near as densely packed. This made it quite fragile but luckily the whole lot didn't disintegrate when whacking it on a plate. Extremely creamy in taste to borderline point of being sickly, the light mousse was very much at the forefront but with an extremely potent lime flavour to accompany which I found to be overly tart and not quite what I expected. The crunchy base went some way in adding some sweet biscuity tones as well as contrast in texture but with another sharp hit from the lemon shreds.. It was all a bit to much!

Overall, I am quite disappointed by this Spirit of Summer Key Lime Pie. I can't dispute the fact it is zesty and that is what you would want from said dessert but I found the pang to be far to in your face. Perhaps it's the combination of cloying cream and citrus which is the problem, I am not to sure but do know, it definitely isn't for me.. MSW on the other hand, loved it! I have been into 2 different M&S and they are still on the shelves so if you've been thinking about it, get one whilst you can! It's a 3 out of 5 from me.

Review- Krispy Kreme NEW: Smores, Maple Crunch, Chocolate Firecracker and Salted Caramel Cheesecake ft. Glazed Kreme

Today was abysmal. It was the start of the working week and it was wet - Possibly the two worst things if like me, rainy days and Mondays always get you down. One little perk however was the fact that NEW Krispy Kreme were in town - Huzzah! Naturally, I got one of each flavour from my local Tesco Cabinet and couldn't wait to get stuck in.

KK seem to have upped their game and veered away from the mundane, plain options with 3 fairly out there flavours: Smores, Chocolate Firecracker and Maple Crunch, along with a NEW and improved, Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Priced at £1.90 a pop (Tesco currently have 2, assorted 3 boxes for £8) and knowing for a fact that the Smores is Veggie friendly*, there really is something to tickle everyone with this quartet.

Smores

Hand pumped with mallow filling, dipped in milk chocolate coating, decorated with mini marshmallow, shortcake crumble and white chocolate drizzle.

Starting with the doughnut that I and I expect a lot of people will be most excited about.. The Smores! Crackling and tumbling on first cut, it both smelt and looked absolutely amazing with a pure white centre. Taste wise, the silky smooth yet sticky aforementioned seriously delivered in terms of pure marshmallow that was uncanny to mini marshmallows rather than jarred "Fluff" - You really couldn't mistake it for anything other! The dough itself was up to the usual KK standard in being plump and fluffy with the signature sweet flavour with a toping of decent enough milk chocolate adding some cocoa tones and a bit of crunch from the sprinkled extras. It's a 4 out of 5 from me.

Maple Crunch

Our signature ring doughnut hand dipped in maple icing and sprinkled with maple flavour crunch and a sparkle of gold dust.

Moving onto the Maple which genuinely almost made me heave - The aroma was of celery. Potent celery! Hesitating greatly, I sheepishly took a bite.. And shock horror, I was mowed down by the yucky and artificial taste that I am still presuming to be a salad vegetable rather than the glorious, pancake topping, Canadian tree sap. Sadly, I didn't actually get to the actual doughnut part but it seemed to be like a doughnut - A big fat 0 out of 5.. It would have been a 0.1 if there had been some gold dust!

Chocolate Firecracker

Filled with chocolate truffle Kreme, dipped in chilli infused chocolate icing and topped with gold stars.

I don't know about you but when I first heard Firecracker, I thought "Ooh.. It's going to be popping candy in a doughnut!". Boy, was I wrong - It's chilli! Who puts chilli in a doughnut?! Crazy KK clearly! Once again, slicing in half wasn't a problem with zero toughness but plenty of softness and slightly more bizarrely, a floral scent. Inside was an abundance of somewhat curdled kreme which despite not looking all that appealing did taste nice and chocolatey. The heat of chilli from the icing was unmissable with a tongue tingling sensation which was not to my liking whatsoever but I did appreciate the ever so slight, raspberry flavour from the red icing to cut through.. Whether this was meant to be the case or not, I am unsure as the description mentions nothing of the sort! It's a 3 out of 5 from me!

Salted Caramel Cheesecake

Hand dipped in cheesecake icing, filled with salted caramel and vanilla cheesecake, topped with crunchy biscuit and salted caramel pieces finished with a salted caramel drizzle.

Last up.. The Salted Caramel number which I was interested to see how would fair as the Lemon version earlier in the year, had improved. My little bubble was burst upon discovering some KK monkey had failed to put any vanilla cheesecake inside! Thankfully, the blob of caramel wasn't measly but still.. It ain't ever going to be cheesecake with no cheesecake! Tasting extremely like a buttery toffee with a good saline kick, the sauce made the perfect accompaniment for the soft fluffy dough with extra sugary goodness from the set, cracked topping - Not particularly cheesecake in flavour but nice enough. A 2.5 out of 5!

Blimey. It's a Doughnut.. Disaster? Well, the Smores is a keeper and I can quite easily see myself buying a few of them whilst they are around but the others? Maple Crunch needs to be banned, entire stock and ingredients incarcerated and then banned again. The Chocolate Firecracker may woo the chilli fanatics but I would like popping candy please.. And stars on top! ..AND the Salted Caramel Cheesecake obviously needs cheesecake. Perhaps KK have tried to be too adventurous and taken on to much but it is really not on to be chucking out half-arsed products.. They cost enough and shouldn't be sloppy!

Just to make their workload even more strenuous for themselves, the jolly chaps at Krispy Kreme have also decided to run a Throwback campaign which we all "voted" on with Powdered Blueberry winning.. But of course, the contest was too close to call and all entrants will be making an appearance for 2 weeks each.

Glazed Kreme

Our glazed doughnut filled with light and fluffy Kreme filling.

It's the Glazed Kreme to kick things off! Extremely sticky on the outside thanks to a water icing glaze, the doughnut left a visible puddle of semi dissolved sugar which was pretty much a nightmare to get off the table! The dough aspect was hugely superior to the previous 4 (Despite none lacking or being poor) the spring and aerated texture was, I think the best I have ever had from a KK. As for the filling, it was also sheer perfection with a light, whipped feel and super sweet, vanilla flavour. A 4.5 out of 5 from me!

For anyone interested, this is the order of Throwback Doughnuts to come:
Powdered Blueberry - 19th September
Cruller - 3rd October
Pumpkin Spiced - 17th October

And for anyone still reading.. I now feel a bit sick. Hop on over to NibsnScribs for a totally different take on todays newbies and have a lovely evening!

*Apparently all KK are Vegetarian? Who knew.

Review- M&S NEW Spirit of Summer: Very Berry Cheesecake

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Cheesecake is up there, if not number 1 when it comes to my favourite desserts. When done well, it's hard to find anything better - The biscuit base, the creamy centre, the never ending list of flavour options and toppings.. Cheesecake is an amazing thing and I'll dispute anyone who says otherwise!

Thankfully, there are no arguments in my house as we all love it and were pretty thrilled to see MSW had bought a Spirit of Summer Very Berry Cheesecake from M&S. Part of a 2 for £6 offer, the 560g chilled dessert which is designed to feed 6, costs £4 when bought individually and is happy to be consumed by the Vegetarians of this world as well as popping into the freezer for a later date.

A creamy baked Madagascan vanilla cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base with a fruity summer berry topping.

As instructed, I ran a sharp knife around the inside of the plastic container and pushed the cheesecake up through the centre hole of the base. Much to my delight, I managed not to send the whole thing for a purler and it came out in one piece, albeit a bit snagged around the edges.

The cheesecake cut well into pretty, picture perfect slices, staying completely intact as well as smelling super summery. Taking a forkful, the layers were all plenty thick with the biscuit base being crisp and densely packed, the cheesecake robust yet soft and the berry topping, jelly like with a cool feel. Flavour wise, the tang of fresh berry was the initial hit in being surprisingly tart with very little sweetness.. The taste actually reminded me a bit of the kids Frube/Choob, Forest Fruit (Or whatever they were called!) yoghurts from back in the day! The middle layer was as expected - Extremely creamy and rich with tones of vanilla throughout and far superior to a non baked cheesecake. As for the biscuit, this was where most of the sweetness came into play with the signature digestive taste that just paired up beautifully with the other elements. Yum!

Overall, this Spirit of Summer Very Berry Cheesecake is a seriously good dessert from M&S! I can find very little fault in it apart from maybe the lack of overall sweetness not being to everyones taste.. I however wasn't fussed in the slightest! I will most definitely be having to try the Sunken Caramel/Dulce de Leche Cheesecake now too! It's a 4.5 out of 5 from me today!

Review- M&S NEW Spirit of Summer: Lemon & Ricotta Cheesecake Slices

A calm after the storm may seem the furthest thing from the truth right now but the sun is back out -It's bright, it's yellow, it's happy and a bit like todays review.. It's Spirit of Summer Lemon & Ricotta Cheesecake!

I was most excited to see these in the range amongst a smorgasbord of cheesecakey goodness - It was almost to difficult to pick which flavour to buy but I couldn't not opt for something citrus-y given my love of lemon.. Even if it does all look very pineapple-y! The pack of 2 slices, each weighing in at 110g each cost £2.60 and are suitable for Vegetarians - Isn't is snazzy how the majority of things are actually Veggie friendly? Who knew.

The plastic tray was robust and prevented the rectangle slices from getting buffed or squished but blimey.. They were tricky to get out! I adopted a sort of tip and slide technique and even then, it split in half!

Sicilian lemon and ricotta baked cheesecake on a digestive biscuit base topped with a Sicilian lemon glaze and candied lemon peel.

Aside from the aforementioned breakage, the cheesecake cut beautifully, staying together rather than turning to slop, thanks to it's baked nature. This definitely reflected in both texture and taste with a soft yet dense feel and super creamy, sweet but not to sweet, flavour. A real kick of pure lemon from the jelly like topping cut through to prevent things from becoming overly sickly and added a load of fresh zesty-ness to the mix, heightening the overall citrus flavour without being lip puckering tart. As for that thick buttery biscuit base, it was the perfect pairing, tasting exactly as digestives should and without a shadow of a doubt, the only thing that was ever going to work. Proportion wise, the amounts of each element were equally as ideal - The potency of the lemon really was the star of the show despite only being a thin layer!

Overall, these Lemon & Ricotta Cheesecake Slices are mouth-wateringly good and I could have quite easily eaten both given the chance! The quality is just undeniable - Any baked version is always going to be head and shoulders above but they really are superb.. It's all about the ricotta, I tell you!

So, does this mean all of the M&S Spirit of Summer Cheesecakes will be a winner? Should I buy different flavours or would that be a slippery slope, stormy suicide?  I don't know the latest forecast.. Best keep a weather eye on the horizon.. Everyone. It's a 4.5 out of 5 from me!

Review- Krispy Kreme NEW: Lemon Cheesecake and Nutty Chocolatta

As I am sure many of you are aware, Krispy Kreme have released a Nutella Doughnut.. Rather sneakily "leaked" through a "Confidential Internal Memo" marketing stunt which caused uproar all over social media. I wasn't champing at the bit to buy into this NEW Nutty Chocolatta but decided to bite the bullet along with a NEW and improved version of the Lemon Cheesecake

Both of the Doughnuts looked pretty darn flawless with a nice circular shape and a decent size - It's a miracle. I bought them as part of a trio box from my local Tesco Cabinet but individually they were priced at the usual £1.90 for the Lemon and £2 for the Nutella - KK know how to take our money!

Lemon Cheesecake

Hand dipped in cheesecake icing, with a lemon & cheesecake filling topped with crunchy biscuit and lemon sugar finished with a tangy lemon drizzle.

Fruity first and I wasn't sure what to expect - Aesthetically the doughnut didn't appear all that different apart from a moving in topping placement. Cutting in half, I was naturally disappointed by the amount of filling but held out in hope that more would be hidden inside - Thankfully in the right half, lemon was in abundance! A real zingy kick came from this with a ever so slight tang from the cheesecake goo which surprising did taste of cream cheese.. Well with some imagination, I mean. The dough incasing all this was up to the usual KK standard in being soft, fluffy and generally a delight. Topping wise, I tasted nothing listed in the ingredients, not even lemon - It was just plain sweet! Not bad and marginally better than last year - It's a 4 out of 5 from me.

Nutty Chocolatta

Filled with pure Nutella hazelnut spread, coated in chocolate and decorated with white chocolate swirls and caramelised hazelnuts.

Nutella time and it smelt jolly good! Once again, the dough itself proved to be perfect with 0 in terms of stodge and certainly not dense. Amongst the fluffyness was a big old blob of the delicious chocolatey spread which was thick, rich and super nutty - More so than you find in some jars anyways! A generous layer of set chocolate coated the top and although it was pleasant enough, it wasn't exactly anything to get excited about. Contrasting to all the soft were the nibs of hazelnut for that final boast of nutty flavour, to round up things nicely. Decent enough but just Nutella in doughnut.. I didn't faint, dribble or scream - It's a 3.5 out of 5.

At the risk of sounding like a right Debbie Downer*, these 2 NEW offerings from Krispy Kreme are alright hence the marks.. But really nothing special. By no means is there anything wrong with them.. The Lemon Cheesecake tastes of lemon and the Nutty Chocolatta tastes of Nutella but they are hardly going to change ones life - Heck, any fan of the aforementioned has probably already put the spread with a KK to get their fix! Now, if only I could find the Berry Pavlova.. I really do have high hopes for that one!

*I would just like to formally apologise to my Debbie Downer of a twin, NibsnScribs who I failed to tell I had these Doughnuts. As she is the Peanut Butter Queen, I suggest you all go and pester her for a review of the NEW Reeses PB & Jelly, leave her a nice comment for me and fingers crossed, reap in its glory!

Review- Asda NEW Neapolitan Cheesecake

It is no secret that I love all Cakes, Desserts and anything remotely sweet but I do have my favourites.. Cheesecake being one! Homemade is of course best but when you see NEW Neapolitan Cheesecake in Asda, you can't exactly refuse.. Who doesn't love that childhood classic ice cream trio!?

I picked up the 550g Cheesecake in the Fresh Dessert section for £2.75 - I tried to choose the one with the best sprinkles as a lot of them had bled into the top and consequently, were white in colour which didn't look all that attractive!

As instructed, I ran a knife around the edge of the Cheesecake which was sat upon a piece of cardboard within a nifty plastic outer and popped the thing out with ease - I did half expect it to break but thankfully not.

Vanilla and strawberry flavour cheesecakes on a biscuit base topped with chocolate sauce and edible decorations.

We are on a bit of an angle for today's picture - Needs must when it comes to not getting a blue hue! Extremely sweet smelling, I was excited for the impending Neapolitan delight to hit.. Boy, was I wrong. The aforementioned signature flavour did deliver on first bite but was then completely ruined by the overpowering and artificial strawberry layer which was so potent and sweet, it almost tasted bitter! Given that nothing else was identifiable, I tried both the vanilla and base seperately and together, were pleasant enough in being sweet and biscuity but fairly generic with no Cheesecake tang. As for the chocolate on top.. The texture was most odd - Jelly like and bizarrely flappy! Things didn't improve any in taste with a bland, lack lustre flavour which I am pretty sure, you wouldn't know was meant to be chocolate! Rubbish!

Overall.. This NEW Neapolitan Cheesecake is a catastrophic let down! I am not sure how Asda have managed it but it has to be one of the worst Desserts, I have ever had. Even by removing the ghastly strawberry layer, it is still ridiculously cloying with the joy of remnant artificial, bitter tones. Please, whatever you do, don't be lured in by the promise of Neapolitan.. You may just end up rueing the day. It's a 0 out of 5 from me!

Review- Asda NEW Puds: Carrot Cake, Banoffee Bombs and Rhubarb Jumbles

Something crazy seems to have happened to Asda's Fresh Dessert section - It's over run with Puds! No word of a lie, there are about a dozen+ NEW additions.. From fruity, St Clement, Passionfruit and Coconut to Millionaires and Mocha with Gingerbread Latte, Afternoon Tea, Apple Betty and a Blueberry Pancake number thrown in along the American way for good measure.. And that's just to name a few!

After much umming and ahhing, I decided on the Carrot Cake, Banoffee Bombs and Rhubarb Jumbles which all cost £2 each with the latter weighing in slightly less at 96g per pot rather than the 100g seen in the Carrot and the 135g with the Banoffee. I'm going to assume this theme runs throughout all the NEW Desserts as they come in variety of different size pots.. Just to boggle everyone a bit.

Carrot Cake

Cream cheese flavour mousse, carrot cake flavour compote and mixed spice sponge pieces.

Oo look at the gooey, ooeyness. The Pud smelt amazing and surprisingly like Cream Cheese - I half expected it to be nondescript! Digging all the way down to the bottom to ensure I got all three elements, I took a big mouthful and was immediately in heaven! The super smooth compote was the first thing to hit with its relatively spicey kick of cinnamon and ginger - Something we all know to be key with a good Carrot Cake. This was only complimented by the sponge which was soft enough and once again, packed full of those signature mixed spice flavours as well as proving to be a decent contrast in texture to all the soft. As for the pillowy mousse which was generously topping the lot, it was creamy and sweet with a good tang that was only to easy to identify as being Cream Cheese. Delicious - 4 out of 5 from me!

Banoffee Bombs

Banana mousse with fudge and toffee flavour sauces, sponge pieces and toffee chips.

Moving onto the Banoffee Bomb and the one I was the most apprehensive about.. I love the flavour combination but in recent years have acquired an on-off banana allergy but figured I would risk these given my general wild ways and the fact the content of said fruit was only at 2.4%. This may seem not a lot but boy, did these pack a punch! The mousse was full on banana and nothing but with the balance of being "real" and artificial, perfectly paired. Super smooth and sticky, the toffee flavour was the next element to show itself which I would liken to the buttery taste of Werthers Original. The odd bit of sponge came to light but wasn't any where as near apparent or abundant as the Carrot Cake, above. A sprinkling of crunchy chips on the top was the delicious finishing touch which heightened the Toffee even further as well as complimented the lingering, banana aftertaste! It's a 4.5 out of 5 from me!

Rhubarb Jumbles

Vanilla flavour mousse, cheesecake batter, rhubarb compote and flapjack pieces.

Finally, the Rhubarb Jumbles which were bought in mind of MSW who can't get enough of the pink stalked stuff! As seen with the previous Puds, the mousse was whipped a treat with a lovely texture but this time didn't deliver in terms of taste - It was bland with no real vanilla flavour and all a bit claggy! The Cheesecake batter was also a let down as I couldn't even distinguish such a thing, let alone taste it. A very subtle tang came from the measly portion of Rhubarb at the bottom which was certainly way more chunky than a compote should ever be. As for the flapjack pieces, they were buttery and soft with a good chewy, oaty texture but unfortunately, couldn't save the thing from being almost tasteless overall. A disappointing 2 out of 5 from me.

Well, minus the Rhubarb Jumbles, I am quite pleased I picked up these NEW Desserts - Both the Carrot Cake and Banoffee Bombs have some serious flavour and make for very luxurious, indulgent Puds that would go down a treat with anyone and everyone! I would definitely buy both again, if not, try some of the others flavours from the never ending list. One thing that I can't not mention though is the absence of a Red Velvet option - Why Asda have covered classic American Desserts here but failed to include the best of the lot, is beyond me.. Someone sort it out, please!

Review- Joe & Seph's Strawberry Cheesecake Popcorn

Last month we had Joe & Seph's Salty & Sweet Popcorn.. This month its the turn of the Strawberry Cheesecake variety! Yes, you did read that right. Strawberry and Cheesecake! In Popcorn! What kind of sorcery is this?

Once again, I picked up the 70g bag at Snape Maltings for £3.50 - A bit cheeky considering its 10g less than the packet previously reviewed. The unique taste experience with this air-popped corn is meant to start with smooth caramel, followed by creamy cheese and to finish, strawberry.

As you can see, the caramel coated popcorn were pretty uniform in size with no kernels lurking in the bottom of the bag - Always something I appreciate! The lightly dusted in pink powder pieces were crisp on the outside with the satisfying airy crunch interior. As promised, a buttery flavour came through at first with the strawberry then kicking in to produce a very sweet and maybe, slightly artificial flavour. I couldn't really distinguish any cream cheese but would say, it tasted a lot like strawberry milkshake.. Not to mention smelling a lot like one one too!

Overall, I am a bit unsure on this one. It is nice enough and will really hit the spot if you want something super sweet but it isn't canny to its namesake at all, unfortunately. I am definitely keen to try other flavours from Joe & Seph's as the quality of popcorn itself really is second to none. Its a 3 out of 5 for the not so sorcerous, more Strawberry Milkshake than Cheesecake, Popcorn!

Review- NEW Philadelphia Almond Layered Lemon Cheesecake by Almondy

Oh look.. Another lemon-y review! I am really sorry to anyone who hates that flavour but it is my favourite - Lets all get over it and move on, ok? OK! I picked up this NEW Philadelphia Almond Layered Lemon Cheesecake in Sainsbury's for £3. I hadn't tried anything previously from Almondy - The Swedish Bakery, who specialise in gluten-free frozen desserts.

Philadelphia Almond Layered Lemon Cheesecake combines naturally tasty almond bases with layers of deliciously creamy Philadelphia, covered in a fresh lemon frosting.

I did have a bit of a giggle at the way the serving tip was written - To facilitate serving, loosen the paper tray and cut the cake into the desired number of portions while still frozen. When cutting, use a sharp knife, dipped in hot water. Defrost at room temperature, wrapping removed: Slice 40 min, whole cake 60 min.

I can't say the facilitation of serving was the easiest - The cheesecake was really was quite solid, even though my trip from store to home was a good 25 minutes. Once I had eventually got my knife through, it did produce neat, little slices.

My slice was ice cold even though I had left it for far longer than the 40 minute recommendation - The coldness was pleasant but not great if you have sensitive teeth! It both smelt and tasted of zesty lemon with a tang coming from the cream cheese. The almond base and layer had a very dry and chewy texture - Not to dissimilar to that of, a few days old, clumped together breadcrumbs.. To my astonishment, it tasted just like them too! I wouldn't have identified them as being almonds but the flavour did go quite well with, what I'm going to call, more of a hard, creamy lemon ice than a cheesecake.

Even though I did find the texture a bit odd and I would not, by any means call it, the Cheesecake that it claims to be on the box, I did quite enjoy this dessert - None was left over so it couldn't have been that bad! I have seen that there is also a NEW Cadbury Chocolate Mousse and Almond Cake which I would be keen to try - I do however wonder, if all the Almondy Desserts have this strange, dry breadcrumb flavour going on though! Its a 3 out of 5 from me.
